Pompeii and the Villa of the Mysteries

Three hours in a small group with an archaeologist, from the ancient city to the frescoes of the Villa of the Mysteries. It is the only tour among those we compare with the Pompei+ ticket and the villa in the itinerary.

Pompeii and Villa of the Mysteries with archaeologist

The experience

The tour lasts 3 hours and is led by an archaeologist, in a small group. The languages are six: Italian, English, French, Spanish, German and Portuguese. The price starts from $87 per person and includes the Pompei+ ticket, i.e. the ancient city plus the suburban villas, with the Villa of the Mysteries on the itinerary.

The official Pompei+ costs €25 in 2026; those who already have the Pompei Express for €20 can add the villas route for €8 at the start of the route at Porta Ercolano (source: Park's Hours and Prices page). Official tickets are named and non-refundable. Here you pay for the archaeologist for three hours and a booking that can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before.

The Villa of the Mysteries is outside the walls, along the Street of the Tombs, and the suburban villas route has an earlier last entry: 15:30 in winter, 17:30 in summer. The tour takes place in any weather and the listing states it is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with mobility difficulties.
