The Archaeological Park of Pompeii publishes the fares under the title «Tickets from 12 January 2026». There are five entries: Pompei Express, Pompei+, Grande Pompei, the ticket for a single site and the annual MyPompeii card. Each covers different places, and the difference between the first two is all in the suburban villas.
We took the prices from the official Hours and Prices page and placed them next to the options for sale on GetYourGuide, with what they include. Prices change: before paying, check the one shown at the time of purchase.
The answer in brief
Pompei Express costs €20 and covers only the ancient city; Pompei+ costs €25 and adds the suburban villas, Villa Regina in Boscoreale and the shuttle. Grande Pompei costs €30 for three days, the MyPompeii card €45 for one year. EU citizens aged 18 to under 25 pay €2, minors enter for free.
How much does the ticket for Pompeii cost in 2026?
The full ticket costs €20 with Pompei Express and €25 with Pompei+; the reduced rate is €2 for both.
Pompei Express and Pompei+ are valid for one entry only: the Park states that «it is not allowed to exit and re-enter with the same ticket». If you exit for lunch outside the excavations, you need another ticket to return. The table summarises the entire price list.
| Ticket | What it covers | Full price | Reduced | Validity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pompei Express | Only the ancient city, without suburban villas | €20 | €2 | 1 entry |
| Pompei+ | Ancient city, Villa of the Mysteries, Villa of Diomedes, Villa Regina in Boscoreale with Antiquarium, shuttle | €25 | €2 | 1 entry |
| Grande Pompei | Pompei+, Oplontis, Villa Arianna, Villa San Marco, Archaeological Museum of Stabia, shuttle | €30 | €2 | 3 days, one entry per site |
| Single site | Boscoreale, Oplontis or Archaeological Museum of Stabia | €8 | €2 | 1 entry |
| Villa Arianna and Villa San Marco | The two villas of Stabiae | Free | Free | n/a |
| MyPompeii | All Park sites and shuttle | €45 + advance sale | $10 for EU citizens under 25 | 1 year |
What is the difference between Pompei Express and Pompei+?
The suburban villas route: Pompei+ includes Villa of the Mysteries, Villa of Diomedes, Villa Regina in Boscoreale with the Antiquarium and the shuttle; Pompei Express does not.
The suburban villas route starts at Porta Ercolano, on via delle Tombe, and has its own last entry: at 15:30 in winter, at 17:30 in summer. If you already have Pompei Express, you can add it on the spot with a supplementary ticket of €8, paid only cashless at the start of the route. The villas route alone is not sold separately.
Do the math: €20 plus €8 supplement makes €28, compared to €25 for Pompei+ bought immediately. The supplement is for those who decide during the visit.

Check dates for the tour with the Villa of the MysteriesWho pays €2 and who enters Pompeii for free?
€2 is paid by EU citizens aged 18 to under 25; those under 18 enter for free.
The reduced price also applies to citizens of non-EU countries with a residence permit issued for the reasons indicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Free entry follows the state rules of the Italian Ministry of Culture: in addition to minors (under 12s accompanied), free entry applies to people with disabilities and one companion, licensed EU tour guides at work, teachers with a school certificate, journalists, ICOM members and other categories. The full list is in the guide on who enters Pompeii for free.
Then there is the rule that applies to everyone: free entry every first Sunday of the month, without a named ticket and without online booking. The dates until June 2027 are in the article on free Sundays.

How much do Grande Pompei and the MyPompeii card cost?
Grande Pompei costs €30 and is valid for three days; the annual MyPompeii card costs €45, €10 for under 25s, plus the cost of online advance sale.
Grande Pompei combines Pompei+ with Oplontis, Villa Arianna, Villa San Marco and the Archaeological Museum of Stabia, with the shuttle. It gives one entry per site over three days, on each site's opening days. Watch out for Tuesdays: Oplontis, the villas of Stabiae and the museum of Stabia are closed.
The MyPompeii card is named and lasts one year from the first validation, with unlimited entries to all Park sites and the shuttle. It is bought online on Vivaticket and collected at the Pompeii ticket offices. With a valid Pompeii ticket, within 30 days, you also enter four local sites for free: the Volcei museum in Buccino, the Castello di Lettere, the Longola park in Poggiomarino and the museum of Terzigno. Villa Arianna and Villa San Marco, in Stabiae, are free.
Do you prefer to explore alone with an audio guide? The ticket with audio guide exists with Pompei Express or with Pompei+.

Online on Vivaticket, which the Park indicates as the only authorised online seller, or at the ticket offices inside the archaeological area, at the entrances of Porta Marina, Piazza Esedra and Piazza Anfiteatro.
Those who buy in advance receive a PDF to print or show on their phone, and with that go directly to the turnstiles. The ticket bears your name, the day and the time band. It is non-refundable, except in case of extraordinary closure of the Park, and name and date cannot be changed. At the ticket offices, a valid ID is required.
Rules on documents, time bands and refunds are in the article on the named ticket.
